A Sophisticated Blend of Aesthetics
In the years since her marriage to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle has shown that she possesses a distinctive and intuitive style which she has adapted to mirror her personal and professional development.
Her personal aesthetic is based in neutral tones with relaxed tailoring and updated classic silhouettes.
Kate Middleton has earned a reputation for adapting a more conservative, structured style with notable bursts of fun and color. There is a brand which tailors to women who sit between the relaxed but put-together chic of Meghan and the conscious propper aesthetic of Kate.

Founding a Fashion Powerhouse
The genesis of Beckham’s own fashion label began with an interest in design which started in her childhood. Even in her 20s, as a member of the worldwide phenomenon pop-group the Spice Girls, Beckham was nicknamed “Posh Spice” known for her ultra cool style and demeanor.
In the early 2000s Beckham began to model for friends in the fashion industry such as Dolce & Gabbana and Roberto Cavalli, before finally founding her own label in 2008.
Though Beckham’s name brought the brand instant recognition on the world stage, its founder was reluctant to outgrow its own potential too soon, and instead focused on creating small collections—learning from the mistakes along the way.
In 2022 Victoria Beckham the fashion label has gone from strength to strength. It has outgrown the novelty of being the passion project of an ex-pop-star and has become one of the top fashion brands operating today, with clients wearing its pieces the world over.

It is this aesthetic vision, walking the line between minimalism and fashion, which appeals to both Meghan and Kate’s established styles.
Though the true extent of Kate’s wardrobe is not known, there is one Victoria Beckham piece which she seems to fall back on time and again. This accessory strongly adheres to the brands minimalist aesthetic and is called the Quincy bag.
This tote style handled bag in white leather is on the larger side of Kate’s favored handbags—the duchess being usually known for her love of clutch bags or small fashion handled bags.
Kate has worn this bag multiple times, most notably to Wimbledon in 2016 and 2017. She also wore the bag to a charity polo match in 2018 where she and her children watched Prince William play.
Meghan is the sister-in-law who is a more conspicuous fan of Beckham’s fashions and has worn key pieces from the brand’s collections throughout her marriage.
It seems Beckham is also a fan of Meghan, with the famously aloof designer saying in an interview with Glamour magazine that she admired Meghan’s speech given at the British Fashion Awards in 2018.
She explained: “I liked what Meghan Markle said at the Fashion Awards. That it used to be cool to be cruel, and now it’s cool to be kind. Kindness has always been at the core of girl power.”
Meghan’s wardrobe boasts a number of Victoria Beckham looks, the most striking of which is an ensemble the duchess wore to the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey in 2019.
The outfit consisted of a chic minimalist coat overtop, a cream midi dress with printed chain link detailing. The overall effect of the outfit won praise from the fashion press and from users on social media.
Another of Meghan’s show stopping Victoria Beckham outfits has been immortalized in a series of iconic photographs taken of the duchess with her husband at an event in London.
As the royals arrived at the Endeavour Fund Awards at Mansion House in 2020 the heavens opened and raindrops were illuminated against Meghan’s blue structured midi dress by the flashing lights of photographers.
Though better known for her Beckham dresses, Meghan has also adopted many items from the brand’s daywear lines into her wardrobe too.
