Fashion Outlets of Chicago shooting suspect taken into custody

An 18-year-old male accused of taking pictures two individuals, killing 1, at the Manner Stores of Chicago in Rosemont previous week has been taken into custody.

Jose G. Matias was taken into custody Wednesday at about 3:15 p.m.

An arrest warrant was issued for Matias Tuesday.

The taking pictures that took place on March 25 stemmed from an argument among two events, which concerned Joel Valdes and Matias.

On surveillance online video in the vicinity of the foodstuff courtroom, law enforcement say Matias is found pulling out a firearm and shooting in the direction of Valdes.

Valdes was transported to the medical center, in which he was pronounced dead.

A 2nd target, a 15-year-old woman who was an harmless bystander, was also shot.

She is now recovering at property.

Just after the taking pictures, Matias remaining the mall in a Maroon 2008 Honda.

The vehicle was found by Cook dinner County Sheriff’s Law enforcement in Bellwood.

Witnesses also helped detect Matias as the shooter in the incident.
